Bio
Christie is a Psychologist with General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) in 2018. After spending some time travelling, she completed the 4+2 Internship to become a psychologist here at Drop of Life. I have experience working across private and government mental health settings.
Christie considers it a privilege to be able to listen to your story, hold space for you and walk alongside you during your therapeutic journey. She works from a client centred approach, meaning she believes YOU are the expert to your life, and her hope is that she can help you to explore and uncover your own inner resources and strengths. Christie draw on a number of different therapeutic approaches in my work, including (but not limited to) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. She also works using a trauma informed and culturally sensitive approach.
While Christie enjoys working with people of all ages across the lifespan, she has a clinical interest in adolescent and young adult mental health concerns. She works therapeutically to support abroad scope of disorders, but her particular areas of interest are:

- Trauma
- Emotional Regulation
- Attachment-related concerns
- Life stressors and transitions
- Adolescent mental health
- Young adult mental health
- Self-esteem and identity concerns
Originally from Liverpool in the UK and moved to the Australia when she was 5 years old with her family. She grew up on the Gold Coast, living and attending school local to Burleigh. In her spare time, Christie is at the beach with her dogs, cooking, renovating her home or relaxing with her family and friends.
