Hey everyone, it’s Benji… I am back! I recently found out humans love to take baths… I mean I do to but that blow drier.. grrr! I don’t know what it is about that drier, but it always has my heart beating quickly and I start shaking no matter how much my human tells me it won’t hurt me. I think my human called it a bit of a specific phobia. She talks about it often in the clinic she says it can do things like this;
- Marked fear or anxiety about a specific object or situation
- The phobic object or situation almost always provokes immediate fear or anxiety or is actively avoided
- The fear, anxiety or avoidance is persistent, typically lasting more than 6 months
- The fear or anxiety is out of proportion to the actual danger posed by the specific object
Jayne from Aussie Pooch Mobile always gives me a special treat after my bath to make me feel better and always makes me feel a little less scared of that silly drier by talking calmly and being extra gentle. My human always gives me lots of cuddles and belly rubs to calm me down as well. All humans are so nice when they understand how the drier makes me feel. Speaking of I think I just heard someone say bath time! Got to run, see you soon.. woof!
